Mondo's used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Coralville. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service have good downhill in recent years. After a visit in which my favorite spinach ravioli was cold/still frozen in the middle and was then microwaved with the shrimp still on the plate (so it ended up way overcooked), I decided to... My freind I was with picked this place due to wanting to try different types of beers and ales. It was a Sunday and we were not sure about their closing time. After we ordered we were informed that the kitchen was closing soon. My friend ordered two appitizers and both took a while to come out. Then we ordered... More

Late Sunday lunch - very few other patrons. Had to ask several time for music volume to be turned down because we couldn't hear each other! Manager on duty was very snide - not cooperative. Two of the orders arrived wrong and had to be sent back. Food quality is usually good but the poor service and very noisy ambiance... More

Not much to say here. Service was good but she couldn't make up for the disaster that was occurring in the kitchen. We both had pasta that was "gummy" - had a few bites and both pushed our dishes away. Waste of $$. I don't even want to waste more time on this review.

Walked in with my family of 3 on a Saturday evening and we were seated within 40 minutes despite it being very busy. We observed a few people walk in with reservations and most were seated promptly at the time they had reserved. Atmosphere was pleasant, almost a mix between an Italian family restaurant and sports bar, with nicely spaced... More

The staff was very unwelcoming and did not seat us right away even though there was plenty of open seating. When we sat down, no one came with a menu for a long time. We felt out of place and got the hint that they didn't appreciate us being there, so we left. Their loss!

The food is good but not great, atmosphere is college town. Dessert was awesome! IF I go again, I will start with dessert. The wait staff was good, but we saw the owner royally chewing out a server for a minor issue. The beer was not the right temp. One degree too warm. Really! The food may be good, but... More

This used to be a lovely spot in Coralville. Nice interior and good food. Revamped as yet another sports bar with lackluster menu. Won't return.

Went to this restaurant with my daughter and son-in-law. They are constantly raving about this place. I was not that impressed. The food is just average. I have the naked pasta with a marinara sauce and meatballs. It is nice that you can 'design' your own dish, but the pasta was overcooked...far beyond al dente, more like been sitting in... More

Great Food, warm surroundings and super staff makes this a must stop on "The Strip"! They have now added many craft beers which make this place even more pleasurable. Try it for lunch and have the portabella mushroom sandwich!!! After work happy hour is festive with a great meal just waiting!
