Great food and service. The food was outstanding and very authentic. The service was prompt and friendly. My favorite Mexican in Iowa City.

My husband and I chose to eat at this restaurant based on the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. We couldn't have picked a worse place. Hubby had the chimi special. The chicken inside was so tough he was unable to eat it. My enchilada shells were doughy and the red sauce on top tasted like ketchup with a few... More

We met friends for lunch and they suggested El Cactus since they have one in Cedar Rapids. This one is not owned by the same folks but we were very happy we stopped in. The service was wonderful and quick. The food was vety affordable and the portions were large. My husband said that the beans he had were the... More

Dinner was very good with chips and salsa while we waited. 22 oz margaritas were terrific. Fine choice to just kick back and relax!

Three very different meals, all were well prepared with ample portions and excellent taste. A hidden gem: very clean restaurant with courteous service and good food.

A neighbor, new to town, asked to take me to lunch to celebrate my retirement. Knowing that she enjoys Mexican food, and wanting to keep the price reasonable, I suggested this, one of my favorites in the community. I had the chalupa and she the "super lunch." Service was excellent, the restaurant clean and nicely decorated, the plates hot, the... More

Have been here twice during mid-2011 to Spring 2012. Reasonably decent food, average prices, the waitstaff is quite attentive and friendly. Enough parking in the lot. This is the same location as the "From Saigon to Bangkok" that had been wiped out by the 2008 Summer flood.

This place wasn't horrible but it's not amazing either. Just average food and service.

This is the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. The Pollo en Chipotle was excellent! Service was quite good, all around thumbs up. I am in town about once a year and going to this restaurant will be my new tradition.
