Wonderful Peoria BBQ, my favorite is the beef brisket. Great family owned restaurant. Great service and friendly.

The rib tips are excellent. Perfectly smoked, not as tender as they could be, but none the less I would give them an 8 out of 10. The catfish was FANTASTIC!! Not greasy at all and the breading was thin, complimenting the catfish, not covering it up. The cole slaw is sweet and creamy, just the way it should be.... More

We've been eating in or carrying out for about 3 years now. Best sign to me of true quality barbecue is when it is served almost immediately because it has been slow cooking for hours and that is the case here. The staff is pleasant and the owner is usually on site working in the kitchen. The real deal in... More

If you love fired catfish the Smo-King Pit is the place. The service is great and it is a warm family environment. After you eat you can walk around the mall. I love to go every chance I get. You can order and take home on the nights yu don't want to cook.

The first time my wife and I went to Smo-King Pit it was primarily because the mall it is in had a pitiful food court. We wanted more than fast food and Smo-King Pit was the only alternative there. We were pleasantly surprised not just by the quality of the food but by the demeanor and courtesy of the wait... More

One of my favorite beef briskets!!! Like their fries too (what they used to be before they all became "crispy coated"). Consistently good food.

I stopped in there for the first time after reading some good reviews and it was worth it. All of the food was excellent, I had the pulled pork and ribs. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was great. If you like barbecue then you need to stop in here and eat or get it to go.

I've been going to Smo-King for YEARS and they have never disappointed. I have tried ribs/ribtips from other places, and I ALWAYS go back to Smo-King!! If you want mouth-watering, fall off the bone, home cooked ribs...then this is the place to go!! The prices are reasonable, the quantity & quality is wonderful, and you'll be GREATLY satisfied!!!

We found this place by accident on our most recent trip to Peoria. The barbecued ribs were some of the best we've ever eaten. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender with a strong smokey taste. The sauce was vinegar-based with a hint of sweetness and thin enough so that it did not overwhelm the meat. The portions were generous; my wife... More

I wasn't sure what to expect. Having been to over 200 BBQ joints in my time, I'd never been to one in a mall. While in Peoria on business today, I decided to check this place out. This family run restaurant is located in the Northwoods Mall on the upper level next to Sears. I'd read some excellent reviews and... More
