It is very hard to find a place like this at the lake! The service is very good, friendly and helpful!!! The staff even mailed a BD card for me in town! The portions are so generous that we took the food back to pour cabin. We shared a platter for two with prawns, two cuts of steak, zucchini, twice... More

I had a rib eye steak that was perfectly cooked and very tender and my wife had the chicken marsala. Both meals were excellent.

Great for family and friends. We shared appetizers. The calamari and the shrimp were wonderful. I will definitley go again to try the full dinner menu.

The Red Onion Grill is obviously aimed at the family market. We ate here late'ish 8pm, it was only half full by this stage. The food is was mainly of the grilled variety, but nonetheless very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you want to sit out on the verandah you probably need to get here early.

In an area where there are few restaurants this was a great find! The area is seasonal, and in the late fall and winter many places are closed for the season. We stopped in for dinner, early around 5pm. Our server was very friendly, knew her menu items and had great suggestions. My husband loved his fresh salmon and I... More

I found this restaurant to have great food. I ordered chicken marsala. The sauce was extraordinary with some sun dried tomatoe and fresh garlic added. My wife had a shrimp dish. She thought her food was great. The cake we had for desert was great also. The price was reasonable. Service ws great. The server was upbeat and excited about the... More

Had I known the owners of the Red Onion Restaurant also owned Bidwell House, I would not have eaten there. The meal was reminiscent of the burnt bacon I had for breakfast, at their inn, that morning. Their signature was all over my burnt crab cakes, burnt heirloom carrots and heavily battered catfish. My shrimp was supposed to be tempura;... More

We ate at this pleasant-looking and popular bar and bistro on a Sunday evening in mid-July, choosing to sit inside to take advantage of what we naively thought would be a quiet environment. The outside deck is directly on the parking lot/main road, making it quite noisy. Unfortunately, this is a restaurant with an inside play area in one corner... More

We ate here twice during our stay in Chester and travels in Lassen Volcanic NP. Good menu with nice options. Appetizers were good, we tried the calamari one night and mussels next. For main course we tried salads, chicken marsala, and salmon. All good. I would give this a 3.5 if that were possible. Solid, good service, good beer selection.
