Casual dining on the patio overlooking the river. The food was good, and the weather was perfect. The service was very good. After dining take a casual stroll along the river bank. Very nice atmosphere.

My family and I recently visited helen for our son's college graduation celebration. There were a total of ten of us and so I was worried about finding a place to accomodate us and at the same time provide a very satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. We were greeted with a smile and were seated at a table right beside...

Start with having to pay 5.00 to park and limited menu. $12 burger was like a premade patty from Sam"s Club. Our onion rings and chili served ice cold. Manager came over to talk to us but never apologized, actually seemed confrontational. Waitress offered to take an item off bill but never did. Nice view but never again. Avoid this...

Arrived in Helen late one Thurs. night. Glad to find somewhere to eat that was reasonably priced. The location along the river was relaxing and enjoyable. Surprisingly, since it is off season, the Troll Tavern had a good number of customers. It seemed as though the management was unprepared for such a crowd because service was quite slow. They were...

The big plus for the Troll is location- right by the river. The server was good, the food was mediocre, the beer was cold. A choice of burgers, wraps, German sausages. A place to eat something and enjoy the river not a place to go just for the food. The premium river view is included in the cost of the...

Very dissappointed. Restaurant has a great atmosphere, but HORRIBLE FOOD. You can tell everything was frozen and just heated up to order. Nothing homemade on the menu and almost everything is processed.
For 12.00, I expect a burger that comes with fries or onion rings, not a bag of Zapps Chips. The order with onion rings was 15.00. OUCH! The scenery is pretty, along the river. The food is very good. Service is terrific. Just watch out for the prices. The food quality does not match the prices.
My family and I visited Helen for the first time during October 2011. We ate at the Troll Tavern for lunch with about fifteen of our friends and we had an incredible experience! We were greeted very promptly and the service remained impeccable. Chris suggested refillable souvenir mugs of German beer and also suggested the Wiener schnitzel and fresh Rainbow...

Our expierance with my family at The Troll Tavern was the icing on the cake for our whole trip! My family and I rented a cabin for Easter weekend to get away before the kids start back to school, and I wish we lived closer because this establishment would become a weekly dinning expierance. We sat down on the river...
