Had a craving for just some good ole home cooked vegetables. The Oakwood never disappoints. I have eaten there many times. The company I work for uses them to cater quite often. The quality of the food they present is always great. Also, make sure you save room for one of their outstanding desserts.

Simple restaurant in Dalton, GA. We stopped in for lunch while passing through Dalton. Menu consists of simple home style cooking.....pick your meat, pick your sides......that simple. Dining room is comfortable and spacious, service was prompt and friendly and the food hit the right spot.......we ate lunch at 1:30 and found ourselves not wanting to eat dinner until 9pm.

If you're ever anywhere near Dalton, get off the highway and stop in for a great meal in a friendly atmosphere. Great non-chain restaurant. Great choices with great flavor. Friendly service. Loved the meat choices and long list of vegetable selections. Wish I had had dessert. Was too full. The only item I didn't care for was the cornbread but the waitress switched it out for me right away. My husband liked it though.

You can always count on the Oakwood for reliable, friendly service and food like your mama cooked, if she was a southerner that is. Turnip greens, real mashed potatoes, fried okra and candied yams and cornbread. It's always packed, but the service is fast

Skip the chain restaurants and find this unpretentious little cafe in downtown Dalton. Not fancy by any means, but the food is good Southern fare at it's best. Friendly service, ridiculously cheap, and when we visited on a Saturday night there was no wait. Our only regret was we couldn't go back for breakfast because they are closed Sundays.

The Oakwood Cafe is a Dalton institution. Their simple, well prepared, food is delicious. The service is good, and a visit to the Oakwood is something to look forward to. Their chicken tenders can't be beat!
