Great spot off the main path of St Armand's. On the intercostal, making a great spot for waterfront old Florida dining. Food and drinks are both very good.
We took a wrong turn and ended up having to turn around when we noticed this place across the street and on the water. The three of us decided to stop in for a drink and check it out. The mojitos were better than most and the beer was cold, although in a plastic cup. But, the view was awesome.... More
What can I say but on a recent trip to Longboat Key I ate at this place . . .we had just finished a nice tour of the Aquarium and it was just down the road. I had the cheeseburger with fried onions. It was one of the top 5 cheeseburgers I have ever had. Seriously. Everyone in my party... More
We love the atmosphere and visit the old salty dog every time we are in Sarasota. The coconut prawns and the buffalo chicken wing are good, solid options and we have never been disappointed. A draught Guinness is a good option to round up the meal
We visited after seeing it advertised on the Man vs Food programme back in the UK. A great place for lunch out on the deck with lovely waterfront views and friendly atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced our party had the Old Salty Dog hotdogs, fish and chips (fries), chicken sandwich and soups all very good.

Have been going to the Old Salty Dog for years. The view is wonderful and the food is pretty good for bar food. The grouper sandwich and the Salty Dog hot dog can't be beat. Prices are reasonable and great place to take the kids and grand kids.
Old Salty Dog is a bustling, but comfortable and friendly, outdoor bar. They do have seating inside, but grab a table on the deck and you'll get the best views of the boats cruising by and all the happenings on the beautiful waterfront. Food is what you would expect at a beach bar, especially one that specializes in hot dogs.... More
