this is in the design district so its a $20 cab ride from sobs, but don't be put off by that. its a wonderful place to eat, the food was among the best we have tasted. great service and a real experience and good value for money considering the quality on offer.

Description: Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

In Miami on business, had another opportunity to visit MGFD. I love this place, staff is attentive and knows the menu inside and out. Sommelier has great suggestions for pairings. We got lots of small plates and shared. I just can't resist the duck confit, always perfect. My biggest regret is that I can't get here more often.

I'm sorry but I found it a rip off, so expansive and the food wasn't even that good. I paid US$ 50,00 for tomatoes with cheese and 2 beers. Not even the service was nice.

This is a must go to in Miami. They have amazing brunch and cocktails. MUST TRY!!!! Try to be there earlier if you don't have a reservation because if it's a Sunday there is no way you are getting in.
