The Midway has great food and a friendly staff. They bake their stuff on the premises and it rocks! DO NOT pass this place by!!!
Was recommended by our resort as a great place for breakfast. The food was excellent with all fresh vegetables and fresh squeezed oj. Was very expensive though. For an omelet and a croissant sandwich and 2 ojs were like $26. Did not receive a lot of food for that price either.
Twice I've tried this tiny little restaurant spot in Islamorada and both times I've left feeling that if you don't know the people who work there or own the place...good luck getting service. The first time I actually waited and ate the food. Marginal at best. The second time, after waiting 45 minutes for the food to arrive and watching... More
We visit Islamorada 2-3 times a yr. and a trip to Midway Cafe is a must!! They have the best coffee (they roast it themselves) and their homemade veggie burgers and breakfast burritos are to die for! It's our family's favorite stop. The owners Bob & Lindsay are a delight and so knowledgeable.
We were on our way from Marathon to the upper keys and were just looking out for somewhere to stop. I saw this place and took a hard right. At first, we really liked it. Just got done talking about how much we liked the decor when my girlfriend looked up to notice a whole army of anys marching around... More
Midway is my absolute favorite spot for breaklfast ! Coffee - they roast the beans on premise and precisely measure on a scale each pot! This is by far the best coffee around. Pastries - there are always some popping out of the oven. Breakfast sandwiches - Dear God ! The Swiss Scramble is the best thing on planet. Egg... More
We did not eat here. We ordered iced lattes to go. They were exceptionally good. We chatted with one of the owners; she was delightful. The bakery case looked very tasty. It was a busy place right before lunch time. I would like to go back again.
Great local owners, fresh foods, lots of vegetarian foods, bakery items and eco-minded practices
I was disappointed with this place. We walked here from our hotel and got there doing a mini rush, which might have unfairly affected our experience. They ask you to order first and then find a place to sit, which to me is a stressful experience. When I come into what I think is a sit down restaurant, I want... More
We visited Islamorada in mid-February 2008. We ate breakfast here every day--missing only Wednesday because they are closed on Wednesday. Service: Great, friendly, smiling--from everybody. Folks who work here seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Food: Great! Well prepared and presented with probably two dozen interesting breakfast selections. Coffee: Wonderful. Best coffee place I have visited in ages... Overall, this... More
