We enjoyed dinner with friends forever. It was a crowded weekend in Gainesville due to graduations, so they had apologized for having to eat outside the city, but my what a wonderful choice. Our friends enjoyed veal dishes and we had a special of rack of lamb with risotto and a tasty vegetable mix. With a Caesar and glass of... More

What a wonderful experience to dine at one of Gainesville's finest. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy; the owners treat you like family; and can't do enough to make your experience joyful. The menu selections never disappoint; great seafood, delicious pasta and a wide variety of fine wines to choose from (and they now serve domestic beer for us beer... More

I went to this restaurant last week. The wife of the couple that owns the restaurant came over to our table and told us that we were in for a treat because the food is great, some of the best italian food we'd ever taste, and she was right! I'm a New Yorker who just moved to Maryland (Work in... More

Although some entrees are pricey for Gainesville standards (in the mid to high $20s), the quality of the service and food is superior. More budget-conscious diners can still enjoy the cozy ambiance and good food without having to take out a loan...Francesca's menu does offer a satisfying selection of traditional pasta dishes in the $14 range. My son loves their... More

Our family discovered this place about 3 years ago and it quickly became our favorite restaurant in Gainesville. Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, delicious food - these are the reasons we love Francesca's and can recommend it wholeheartedly!!!!

There are only a couple really great Italian restaurants in Gainesville worth eating at and this is one of them. I have eaten there two times, the last being just two days ago. We had a party of four. We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening. The hostess was lovely. Our server was very nice as well.Which was the... More

My friend's choice for her birthday. I thought my entree was quite ordinary and very overpriced. When we ordered glasses of Zinfandel, I thought we'd pointed to the 'white', but we were served a deep shade of pink which turned out to be $9,00 a glass, rather then the $6 we were expecting. When I want to pay top dollar,... More

Our family has eaten at many restaurants throughout the years, and this is the first time in a long time we have had the perfect meal. The soups were delicious, the salads were crisp and fresh, and the entrees were outstanding. Our son highly recommends the tiramisu (he had three helpings!). Watching the regulars interact with the owners, you can... More

We've had dinner here a couple times recently and found the food to be excellent so we expect to keep returning. We had eaten here when they first opened and it was just OK so we are very pleased that they have stayed, we're rediscovered them and will return as we are very local but....... One of my pet beefs... More

Based on the recent trip advisor reviews, we chose this restaurant for dinner. We were 50 percent disappointed with the food. My husband had the pescatore which he found quite good -- lots of well flavored clams, mussels calamari and fish in a spicy tomato broth over his choice of pasta. On the other hand, my ravioli al forno was... More
