I frequent this restaurant 27 years ago and the formula is still consistent. Menu almost didn't change, salsa still fab and good service. On the downside they changed the recipe for Chili Rellano and Flautas which is now served with a brown gravy instead. Try the deepfried ice cream which is still excelent!

The food here was average in quality, but fairly large in quantity. However, the price of the entrees was ridiculous. The wait staff were not particularly inviting either. I'd stay away unless you're hard up on finding a place to eat.

WHat a GREAT long time establishment. It has been around for over 20 years, and not a thing has changed, there is stll a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. Their food is always good, and their Margeritas.. WOW.. GREAT classic Ft, Lauderdale MUST go to place ;-)

On vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. Went to Carols & Pepe's for Cinco de Mayo. The food was soooo good. Had the Tamales, rice and beans, Tune Dip & chips with a house Margarita and Fried Ice Cream. You get two large Tamales and fair amount of rice and beans. A "Must Try" is the Tuna Dip and the Fried Ice... More

We stayed at the Embassy Suites which is right next door to the restuarant. I had looked up places to eat close to the hotel prior to our trip. We both ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was great. They brought us chips and salsa after we had placed our order. The service was good. I would eat here again.

Food was decent, the salsa was excellent but the margaritas were good but a little sweet for my taste. Service was consistent and friendly. I would be inclined to go there again, but would also try other places with similar food.

This local stable Mexican institution has been in the same place for 30 years, enough said about dependability. While they are a little proud of the margaritas they are pretty darn good. Nachos are handncrafted and individuallynmade on your plate and can be a mealmon their own. Stay with the Mexican food, the gringo menu is not asngood. Fried ice-cream... More

Loved our dinner at Carlos and Pepe's! There was so much food we could hardly finish our dinners! We each had the combo plate where you could choose one burrito, taco and chile rellenos. Try the mango margarita its awesome : )

It was our first time in Fort Lauderdale and we only had a few days, as we were going on a cruise. We asked our hotel (Embassy Suites) where we could get good food and they provided two choices. We chose Mexican - it was a 5 minute walk from our hotel :) They have an outdoor patio and inside... More
