Passed up the early bird specials to dig into great steaks and baked potatoes that hadn't sat around all day. Staff very attentive and helpful. Bartender is a treasure.

First night in Clearwater wanted somewhere nice to eat that was kid friendly- signs outside say posh food casual dress and the kids menu looked great so in we went...
Downhill from there...snooty waiting staff no greeting- what do you want? We were asked! Relish plate was weird....anyway we looked forward to shrimp cocktail which was shoved on table...good thing...

So the first turn-off was the incredibly large and unwieldy menu's. 2nd was the "relish tray" made up of apple butter, some corn thing, a beet thing and cottage cheese thing. I will say I loved the taste of the cottage cheese thing and ate all of it. I love beets but the beet relish was not good. Not a...

Tried this nice restaurant a Monday evening.
The restaurant has a nice ambience and atmosphere. There is a pianist playing. This was one of the few places were guest did not sit in shorts and sandals, which we thought was very nice.
The waiter was attentive and was able to answer all our questions and needs regarding the meal. We...

The Restaurant was located on Mandalay just across from the Hilton in Clearwater Beach Fl. The Restaurant wasn't fancy, but the food was excellent. Started with Mussels in a white wine sauce, which was terrific. My wife had twin Florida lobster tails for 35$ dollars which she said were great. I had the Black Grouper with Citrus Mango which was...

We were disappointed by our visit at Beachcomber. Looking for a more upscale option on Clearwater beach, our concierge recommended this restaurant. The atmosphere felt very dated and stale to us, and the food was just average. Our waitress was extremely sweet and friendly. You might be better off choosing one of the many casual options in the nearby area.
The restaurant has unusually large tables set in large rooms with an interesting design. The service was rather confused/confusing with waiter "confirming" that nicely presented and juicy stakes were the sandwichs ordered... A grouper sandwich had lot more in it than a grouper complet dish... And one soup was brought only after the entree had arrived... But no one complainted...

This is not a 'scene' restaurants like Ocean Prime, etc. The food is just reliably great. Fresh seafood, great chicken, meats, chops and cocktails. This place is a throwback to the 60's & 70's. Even the relish dish with cottage cheese, apple butter, pickled veggies, etc - wow! Mind you, the tables are well spaced out which is great to...

We were six on this visit to the Beachcomber. The food is excellent. Portion sizes were average to above average. The restaurant is perfect for just about any occasion but maybe not so good for small children. Try the shrimp salad. Not just your average shrimp salad! Good value for the money. There was a piano player when we were...
