There were five of us sitting by a window overlooking the water....so relaxing. We enjoyed our meals (we all ended up ordering different seafood dishes!) along with two bottles of their house wine (free with a promotion they offered during the winter.) Although the restaurant was busy, we were still able to speak with each other as there was plenty... More

Driving through New London decided to stop for lunch and happened upon this restaurant via our GPS. I'm a bit of a seafood snob and therefore not always easy to please but On the Waterfront had one of the best lobster bisques I have ever tasted. I wanted to try their fried clams but I was told they are only... More

The food is very good. Steak was perfect. My wife had stuffed eggplant and can't stop talking about it. She got a piece of chocolate cake...wow was it big and delicious. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but there is a free parking lot up the side road near the restaurant. Be prepared to walk down a steep... More

Loved the "special" bottle of wine with a couple of dinners on certain nights. Have always had a good meal there.

I chose "on the waterfront" based on tripadvisor reviews. I took my wife and another couple for a date night. We were seated without any wait, which was good because we didn't have a reservation. We were very pleased with our table and our nice view. Our server took a little longer than it should to come over but was... More

In the winter the dinner view is darkness but if you go when it is daylight you are on the river so the view is fantastic. Food is good. I had seafood on pasta so that is the type of dish that is hard to mess up so you look for quality and amount of the seafood. Reasonable quantity and... More

Friendly staff and quick seating with reservations. Beautiful view right on the river. Extensive menu with a wide variety of foods available. The bread was good with some amazing butter, but then, it went downhill. The lobster bisque was ok, with a few small bits. Salads were average. The mains were all off. The scallops in a sour sauce, both... More

We always enjoy eating here. The menu has a wide range outstanding choices. We often take along visiting friends/relatives and they all love it because the service and food is so good. You won't find a better value regarding quality, taste, service, view, and atmosphere in southestern CT.

We have never had a bad meal here. We return for quality food, great view, and atmosphere. This is not a 5 star restaurant, but well above average when meals alone are considered. The owner has made sure that there is plenty to choose from but does not overextend menu options to the point where consistency becomes an issue. These... More

We had a very nice dinner with a beautiful view of the water [we were seated side-by-side at a 4 person table]. The bread came warmed with outrageous garlic butter! It was delicious!! My stuffed shrimp came with fresh, steamed vegetables that still had their snap and mashed potatoes. The portions were good enough to satiate my taste buds. Service... More
