My absolute favorite restaurant. I've visited on multiple occasions and have never had a bad experience. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more friendly, accommodating wait staff. The chef and owner, Jason, is incredibly personable and will visit and chat with you about recipes and events, etc. etc. The food...OH MY GOODNESS. Try the Rodenbach beer, bread and butter plate,... We stopped at this restaurant for lunch and we were overwhelmed by the unusual combinations of food in their unique dishes. Don't be afraid to try things as they know how to combine amazing ingredients to produce the most unusual and delicious tastes. Great ,friendly service and we highly recommend it. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. The soup and salads were also excellent. We sat at the bar because the tables were all reserved on a wednesday night at 7pm. There is a nice outdoor seating area.

And that's rare. Caseus (L. for "cheese") is a tiny bistro with a little cheese shop attached. We had lunch there, sitting outside on a cool but sunny day. Their specialties are artisanal breads, meats and cheeses. Eating there requires a degree of faith on your part - they offer foods (oatmeal/orange/gingersnap butter served with fennel-rich bread, for example) that... More

Who knew that this quaint little place was a neighborhood gem! The food is INCREDIBLE - the flavors pretty much burst in your mouth - and of course the cheese is unbelievable! Its fresh - and tastes fresh - and the warm and knowledgable staff enhances the experience. Make sure you have a reservation though, even for lunch, unless you... More

Wow - New Haven has some great food these days, however Caseus truly excels. Small, quaint atmosphere with extremely knowledgeable staff who go the extra step in ensuring the utmost in dining experiences. The cheese platter is not to be missed.

This place is a gem! I love good food, this is good food and then some. Everything is homemade and FRESH! They grow their own herbs, and the Owner Jay is on a cooking channel! Really knowledgable waitstaff, they've eaten the dishes and know best to tell you what beer or wine pairs well with certain menu items. A real... More

Took spouse & daughter for celebratory dinner. Tight fit around lounge table but w enough room to enjoy tart,an excellent bottle of house red, duck ragu pappardelle, tender skirt steak, and a savory dish of thinly sliced sea scallops and reed new potatoes in a peppery cream fraiche sauce. Service was friendly and efficient. This is a convivial place where... More

Fantastic restaurant! One of the best meals we have had in years. The service is fantastic (ask for Johnnie) and the food is wonderful. Make sure you try their signature mac & cheese (this is not your childhood dish), cod fritters and if you like mussels, the most generous portion I have ever had. Great meal, great atmosphere -- a...
