I still love Sweet Basil after all these years. It has a warm and inviting ambiance as well as an incredible wine list. The menu is everything I enjoy when having a nice dinner out with friends. In other words, my teens might not choose Sweet Basil as their first choice for dinner but my husband and I love the... More

Over the years, this has been my favorite restaurant in Vail. Went there recently for a family dinner and we chose the three course for $39 (off season deal). Started with the parmesan malfatti with eggplant, flavors went well together and it was quite tasty. For my main course I had the Alaskan true cod cooked in a miso broth,... More

One of the best dinners I've had in a long time. Fantastic service, and very good food. Expect to spend atleast an hour and a half at dinner, as the service allows you to enjoy your food/wine, and not rush you out the door. More

I dined there in Feb as this is one of my family's favorite spots, it is the first time in more than 20 years that I can report that I had a meal that wasn't very good. The dish was not described very well on the menu and was fatty, over cooked and just tough. Anybody can have an off... More

Third time giving them a chance. Third time they over cooked everything. Ordered lamb MR came out super well done. When I addressed it with the server I was told it will be 45 min to get the next one out. When I questioned why so long? I was told "lamb is very difficult to cook" YEAH RIGHT. Watched my... More

Our appetizer (salmon tartar) was just okay. Our dinner was similar to the appetizer...just okay. Our server seemed disinterested. After eating at similarly rated resturants in Breck, we were disappointed in the food and service. More

This was a great spot. We had seafood and great wine. The seafood was Barrundi and Tuna. The house Pinot Grigo was great and service was great. Also met a great group of people. More

Over the years Sweet Basil has developed a loyal following. Good food and great service. You cant go wrong with Sweet Basil. Perhaps not the most inventive or fresh meal in the valley, but Sweet Basil will do no wrong with the easy to impress crowd. If you are most demanding, its time to explore other options in town More

Conveniently located in the middle of Vail Village, Sweet Basil has been a standout in Vail for many years. It keeps updating itself to meet new food trends and desires. Tastes are light, fresh, and elegant. The crowd is affluent and casual but expects something out of the ordinary. Even on a weekday, the place was crowded. The bar was... More
