I have been to approximately 20 sushi restaurants in the Denver area. Sasa Sushi has placed itself head and shoulders above the rest. Food, ambience, service have all been outstanding. The downside, if any is parking.

Very nice dinner. The place was clean and bright. The fish was absolutely amazing, very fresh and cut just the right way. The rolls were really good and Im not a big roll guy, but these had interesting ingredients like strawberry and lemon slices that gave it all a very tropical Hawaii feel to them. Service was top notch. The...

The classic and new style sushi is impeccable. A very good variety of fish. Wide range of Saki styles and choices, and a decent wine list as well.
A 'torchon' style foie gras item with yuzu and fish eggs was remarkably subtle and a delightfully unexpected pairing.
A black cod french onion soup was a wonderful 'fusion' idea that worked...

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge of my hotel, and it proved to be the best recommendation I've gotten in awhile. The sushi was very fresh and, sitting at the sushi bar, the head sushi chef made excellent recommendations. The Diablo Roll was fantastic, one of the best sushi rolls that I've had. Highly recommended.
Sushi Sasa is not a traditional Japanese sushi place. The first hint is when you crack the menu and see Edamame with lemon and garlic plus other possibilities. Actually the real first hint is mostly non- Japanese behind the sushi counter but in the US an all- Japanese staff is very rare. There are plenty of other non- traditional bits...

This is great food and has got a different style to it. Great food, good service, and by a good ice cream place!
I finally made it to Sasa after hearing tons from my friends. Of course in Denver, the inevitable is that new sushi restaurants must be measured against the Den great and powerful. Which of course is one of my favorite spots, sushi or otherwise. My hubby went with, he is okay about sushi, but it really isn't his favorite so...

This place seems to get very mixed reviews...my experience seems to have been a microcosm of this. Some of the dishes are very creative and very tasty while others fail to even stay in one piece. The staff does not go out of its way to be polite...
Also, the prices here are higher than those at other Denver sushi...

My husband and I have been going to Sasa Sushi a few times a year since they opened. The creativity in the dishes set it a part from the other 100 sushi restaurants in Denver. This time, we ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu (orderd in advance when we made the reservation). For $60 you get five courses of amazing food....

A few blocks from downtown but well worth the walk. Good local customer base, even on a Monday evening. Sushi was fresh and the selection was good. I didn't try any rolls but they looked large and well made. Pricing was what you would expect for this quality of sushi.
