Description: For over four decades the Saucy Noodle Restaurante has been a Denver landmark at the same location at 727 South University Boulevard. The little spot, known to locals throughout the Washington Park, Cherry Creek and Bonnie Brae districts was originally known as Jim Sano's when it was purchased by the Badis family in 1964. Sam Badis, a former Big Band Leader and Denver entrepreneur, held court with a gregarious smile and warm welcome and served up what is arguably the best pizza and pasta in town. Traveling the country in the '60's and 70's Sam would frequently buy unique antiques in small towns and haul them back to the Saucy Noodle to adorn the restaurant's, now famous, red velvet walls.

Take out order of half order of Fettuccine Alfredo and a Delgato pizza. The Fettuccine Alfredo was good but perhaps a le bland. The Delgato pizza was small, tasteless and over priced. If I'm back in Denver I would not return.

Everything is drowned in red -- red sauce, red decor, red red red. Unless you're color-blind, you know you're in an Italian place. If this was located in New Jersey, it would be unremarkable. If it was in North Beach in SF, it wouldn't have stayed open a week. But because it's located in the heart of the whitest part... More

Went for dinner with my daughter and the Saucy Noodle became an instant favorite. Loved the atmosphere and our dinner was delicious. The portions are huge - lots of leftovers even with the half-serving size. We both had the cheese ravioli and linguine with meatballs. Will definitely go back. Call ahead to avoid the wait.

Probably the worst Italian food I've had since moving to Denver. The location is the only redeeming factor, but honestly Olive Garden is better and I despise Olive Garden. They're only getting two stars because the staff was friendly. You're better off going anywhere else.

We made reservations on a Friday night and had to wait about 15 minutes after our reservation time. I love garlic so I was excited to try the place. To be fair, it was a weekend night and the place was crowded. Yes, it's all red checkerboard table cloths and red walls. We ended up sitting next to 3 large groups.... More

We loved this little restaurant in Denver. We were pleasantly surprised because it doesn't look like much from the outside. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere right down to the music was great. Sure to return to this little place.

Love the garlic bread and red sauce. Terrific pasta dishes. Good salads. Service uninspired but gets the job done.

I was in the denver area and my buddy took me here for early dinner on a sunday. The place was empty at first then a few more folks arrived. So I was a little worried at first thinking this might be just a so so food joint. We were seated right away and service was good and friendly. The... More

I really like their marinara sauce. Parking is not the best, but get there early and relax with a glass of wine.
