Description: LOBAR got started in 2004 under the guise of being Crested Butte’s only night club, but the ruse only lasted 8 days when we added Sushi to our menu and things really took off. We’re renowned for serving great sushi, and for throwing better parties. Our restaurant is inspired by creative Japanese cuisine, and pop art from the 50′s. You’ll find the video monitors around the restaurant projecting old Godzilla movies, snowboard videos, and an occasional kids cartoon. But its not visual entertainment only, as our sound system playing anything from Chicago Blues, to contemporary drum and bass, and you’re sure to find hip-hop on the weekends. This season be sure to stop by for our happy hour from 5pm – 6pm Mon – Fri. Our happy hour menu is full of excellent selections from our regular menu, and if you find a seat at the sushi bar the chef may throw in something even better. Were open 10 months a year. We like to close on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the whole month of April, when the staff ( along with most of crested butte ) splits for a well deserved holiday.Stop by and check us out. – Kyleena

This is a really fun place to go for drinks, to hear music, or for karoake. People rave about the sushi but after having eaten there 3 times in the past year, I still think it's only average.

Excellent, creative sushi with fresh fish despite the mountain locale. Delicious cocktails. The lounge/bar setting is enhanced with the low couches, creative decor & low key beats in the background. The service was super-friendly. We went with our kids, & while it would be fun to come back at a later hour without them, they were right at home, sinking... More

Exotic interior and exceptional menu make for an excellent dining experience. While the sushi is delicious it is the crack fries that are incomparable- DO NOT MISS THEM! All of the servers were extremely kind to our table of adults and kids ages 8-15

My husband and I were incredibly disapointed in this resturant. It had such great reviews and may people suggested we try it out before we left. However, we did not find the staff that welcoming. The food was average at best. I did not care for the flavor of my meal at all. Overall we felt out of place here,... More

This place is also owned by the people who own secret stash and sweet spot..... Lobar's atmosphere is right on par with the other two! Fun, interesting, intriguing atmosphere. Live music. Large bar. Neat seating areas. The food is average. I've been twice and was stuffed both times but never in awe by any flavors. The best thing I have... More

I love sushi. I'm not a sushi snob, but I love it, and so does my 13 year old daughter. My wife, not so much. So we had to work hard on her to get her to come to the Lobar, which the Inn at Mountaineer Square recommended. She thought it was great! Some of the dishes were a little... More

We ate here during our Labor Day weekend visit and were not disappointed. Great atmosphere and the wait staff hustled the entire night. The hostess worked the hardest seating, bringing out meals, cleaning up and she was a young high-schooler (daughter of owner?). We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with another Midwestern couple and had wonderful sushi and... More

I ordered the surfer girl roll and my husband who's not a sushi fan got the fish tacos (which might have been the special that night). He was very pleasantly surprised to see that they had some great non-sushi options for him. Both were outstanding dishes. The service was great! We love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the karaoke... More

The place came highly recommended by a personal friend and had good reviews online. I wen in alone on a Sunday night was was told the bar was the best place for internet access. I ordered a few dishes from the bartender and waited. And waited. A dish came out - hamachi with the flame and garlic kicker - not... More
