The reviews of this little family diner were spot on. Don't miss this restaurant if visiting Colorado Springs! They are not open on Sunday. Saturday only til 5:30 pm. For me, this is a super casual Mom and Pop kind of place to go for lunch or a casual dinner. The food is served in take out containers, plastic utensils,... More

When I drive by Taco Rey at Lunch time there is a line leading outside. So I thought I would stop to find out what was the fuss. I left not knowing. I ordered the #9 ($9.32) Two Chili rellenos with rice and beans. It was served in a black Styrofoam container with three sections. On the top left was... More

Great Mexican, great price, great atmosphere! Only drawback is the place is tiny. Get there early and enjoy! Highly recommended.

This place is small, very small but the smothered bean & cheese burrito in a green pork chili sauce is to die for. Get it as a plate (maybe they call it a platter) and it adds rice and some more beans. They also serve one of the best Arnold Palmer's we have had. They are fortunate their food is... More

Without a doubt, it is a hole in the wall establishment, but that is often what makes for the best mexican food. And this place is excellent. Everything I've had their is good (tacos, burrito, rellenos, even their hand made lemonade), but the green chile is out of this world good. Definitely don't go there for the ambiance, but if... More

The food is absolutely delicious! The family run business is quaint and you feel right at home. The smothered pork avocado burrito is very tasty. All of their food is fresh and unique. Even with it being a small place, it is cozy and warm service. The crispy tacos are scrumptious.

This is the best food we have come across in Colorado Springs. The smothered burritos and tamales are the best I have had in a long time.

I have been going to El Taco Rey for as long as I can remember. My whole family loves it, it was even the place my sister chose to have her 16th birthday dinner. :) The green chili is AMAZING and I don't typically like sweets but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the coconut tres leches!

I've gone here for years and each and every time, it never disappoints. Tiny place, only about 5 tables inside, but its nice to invite others to sit and eat at your table, or on a nice day, sit outside on the picnic tables. Known best (and for good reason) for their pork avocado green chili burritos, I have yet... More

The food is worth waiting for. Be prepare to wait for a while because is ALWAYS full. We have been parking on the street & using a parking meter!! Just this past Tuesday as we were leaving I notice a sheet of paper taped on the frame of the exit door saying they have a parking (in the rush we... More
