The location is nice on the promenade but there are many better places to spend your money. The sever did not bring the menu or water for 15 minutes. Then we had to keep asking him for everything-the silverware, the bread, the drinks we ordered. The the food finally came. Wrong order. No chicken on the wilted old salad, the...

I chose Trastevere after wandering around Santa Monica for awhile chiefly because of its attractive appearance and convenient location on the Third Street Promenade. It was not crowded, and service was smooth and fairly quick, but a bit brusque and unfriendly. The food--a specialty salad and rigatoni with chicken--was fine, but fairly ordinary, nothing I couldn't have made at home....

great location, cute atmosphere outside with candles right on the street, and the carbonara I had was far better than what I expected at such a bustling location right in the heart of third st promenade! Food came out quickly, not over priced (which they could do if they wanted considering where it is)

My husband and I were looking to get some dinner before a movie. We had always thought Trastavere looked good just by the exterior of the building. We were lead inside to a dingy dining room. My husband had to repeatedly ask for plain olive oil for his bread and our server never came to see how our food was....

Went to Trastevere for lunch. Greeting was prompt and friendly enough, the water and bread came promptly. The waiter took our orders and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. The pasta with clam sauce was acceptable. The grilled chicken, penne with sauce and roasted potatoes were all overcooked, underseasoned and wholly poor. The waiter only reappeared when...

I was very disappointed in Trastevere. We were wanting a nice Italian meal after a long week of vacationing in Santa Barbara/Santa Monica. This place sounded good so we stopped in for dinner. The service was almost too good as it felt like they were constantly over your shoulder staring you down. Which is bothersome when you are wanting to...

The food at this restaurant was nice although we had to wait a while to be seated (standard for restaurants on 3rd street). My pizza and brucetta was nice and the staff were attentive although the place was a little noisy.

This ristorante Italiano is located right on the intersection of 3rd street and Santa Monica boulevard, where bountiful shopping meets exuberant young American street buskers!
Ambience was a super plus:
Do take the outdoor seating alongside the trendy 3rd shopping belt, and soak in the bustle and hustle that LA has to offer. The hippy live music and dance performances...

The food is not the best for an Italian "ristoranti" in the heart of Santa Monica. The pizzas are soft enough to make a roll and the pasta is heavy (with the agravation of bad bolognese sauce). The service is good and friendly
