My friends and I dined here last month for the first time and we will definitely be coming back. I had the braised beef short ribs and the meat fell off the bone, it was delicious and I highly recommend them. I had to try my guest's chilean sea-bass purely because of the presentation, the fish melted like butter on... More

Having read some previous reviews we were a little worried but we had one of the best meals of our 15 day vacation in Locando del Largo. The menu was interesting and varied and seemed to offer something more imaginative than the standard Italian fare. The food was well cooked and arrived on time and there were some nice touches... Ambiance is nice. In house made bread was the best part. Meals were slow to arrive. Good service. Food seemed average. More

My wife and I met a friend here for dinner and based on the prices alone you would expect this restaurant to be better. We all had a mercato salad for openers, fine little house salad in a bowl, in my opinion not worthy of $11 per salad. Our waiter, Will was nice but very serious, I don't think he... More

Everything is fresh here. Pasta is made in house from the tagliatelle to the whole wheat spaghetti, veggies come from the farmers market and they even make the bread and the gelato. Service is excellent as well. More

I had the bad idea to choose the pizza with Speck and Arugula. The worst dough ever. I wonder whether the cook ever eat a Pizza in Italy.. My friends had other dishes, very disappointing too, like the fettuccine with white fish, (no fish at all, at least that you could see..) the spaghetti allo scoglio (overcooked). The only good... We went to this restaurant in 2010 and enjoyed the food and the quality of service. What a difference a year makes. In July this year we found the staff unfirendly (I asked the guy who gave us our menus what the specials are and he said 'that's not my job, I just escort you to the table') and we... More

In reviewing the restaurants on the Promenade in Santa Monica, none of them would garner high marks. Part of the reason is that they cater to a constantly changing universe of tourists, and feel they don't have to serve anything extraordinary. Locada del Lago is okay, but that's about all. Overpriced items and blandness make for an unappetizing experience at... More

I have never had a bad meal at this place. I read some reviews that surprised me about the service, because I have been there about 50 times and have NEVER had bad service, and much of the wait staff has been there for 20 years (for real) and they are very knowledgeable about service and friendly as well. The... More

Great ambiance. I was shopping on the Promenade with some friends and we were suddendly hungry and thirsty and Lago looked the right place. Cocktails were amazing, all made with fresh fruits and organic liquor....AMAZING! Also a good Wine selection for my friends wine lover. Food was amazing. Some Italian classics with a twist. The best surprise is when we... More
