Had the Halibut Vera Cruz and watched the sunset...can't be beat. Service was really good, a few too many flies for me on the patio but not unsanitary.
Locals brought us there and warned us food was "iffy", as sometimes so-called fresh fish wasn't. But this August night ours was, and among 6 of us, all were satisfied. Not the best seafood we'd had, but good quality and competently prepared. Service was fine. Setting on the pier was wonderful--would have been better had not coolish weather forced us... More
The food was spectacular and the people were so freindly! We had the sunday brunch, everyone need to try it at least once!
This place used to be great. I always took my family members from back east to Fisherman's. The last few times we had dinner there the food was salty, and uninspired, and aside from the 'unforgivable' overcooked, dried out portions of fish we had, the portions were amazingly small. The chowder is also floury and buttery, not a good sign.... More
This seems like this place would be a tourist trap on the ocean but in reality it is quite a good seafood restaurant. I had the pasta special with crab. It was delicious and arrived at the table piping hot. The fish special was also very good. The sour dough bread they served with the meal was very good as... More
Great view right on the pier , Food kinda yucky . Fishy shrimp cocktail, watery clam chowder and flour tortillas with the fish tacos IMO that is a no no . Our waitress was nice but will be passing on this one next time around .
Had been here on a business trip several years ago...it created a great impression...so much so that on a family vacation to Southern CA. I felt compelled to bring my family, and none of us were disappointed. From marketing perspective, they could do a better job differentiating the two sides of the restaurant... it was halfway thru my second visit... More
The Fisherman's Restaurant and bar sits at the land end of the the San Clemente Pier. It is divided with one side, to the North, being like a bistro with on the pier seating and light meals like fish and chips and burgers. The South side is more expensive with more indoor seating and full meals. I've been to both... More
The food is spendy, but you can't blame them. The rent has to be out of this world. I think it's worth the money for sure. Try the fishermans chowder. I typically don't like the red/new england style, but they do it right. Try sitting outside right before sunset. You'll fall in love with this place.
Can't beat the ocean and the view, but we waited 1.5 hours for an inside table. The food was pricey and the amount of fish was small and did not taste fresh - probably frozen. Although you cannot beat the view...if you could get a seat by the water!
