Extensive menu and good food. Have the light whipped omelette. Downside - long queue. More

This place is always packed and you have to wait on Sat and Sun morns in line so plan on it. The breakfasts and lunch are wonderful! Good portions and great service, even when they are crowded! Wish the other restaurants in Salinas would take a tip from these people! They give you free coffee outside of the place while... More

We choose this spot based on the Tripadvisor reviews but truthfully we were disappointed. Just ok food. Overcooked potatoes, dry chicken. I would not go back. One plus is that they leave the water pitcher at your table. It was really busy and quite popular maybe we got there on an "off" day. More

We eat in there often. Breakfast choices are all done exactly as you like. Friendly staff, clean @ all areas, very popular with the locals as we see the same people in there quite often. More

I was hoping form more of a historic look inside but it was confortable. Anita, our waitress, was warm, friendly and quick to serve. Selected the Triple Bogey, 2 eggs, 2 bacon & French toast. The egs & bacon typical but enjoyed the thick texas French toast. Like that they brought a caraf of coffee. Price is typical & reasonable.... More

Long time favorite for locals here in Salinas. Took my business partner in the day before Thanksgiving and we both left stuffed and ready for naps. However our server, Jarred, hopefully I've spelled his name right, was outstanding. Made us feel right a home and you can tell he enjoys his job and the food he serves and recommends. Couldn't... I highly recommend First Awakenings, but be prepared for a wait on weekend mornings. There was even a Farmer's market across the street Saturday morning. Salinas was home for 30 years and we'd been to First Awakenings many times. We even introduced it to our Brazilian exchange student who still remembers how good it was. Saturday morning it was as...
