This place is always packed! The true sign of a popular place! The food is good & the portions are huge! Good value for your dollar.

This place is always packed and you have to wait on Sat and Sun morns in line so plan on it. The breakfasts and lunch are wonderful! Good portions and great service, even when they are crowded! Wish the other restaurants in Salinas would take a tip from these people! They give you free coffee outside of the place while...

We choose this spot based on the Tripadvisor reviews but truthfully we were disappointed. Just ok food. Overcooked potatoes, dry chicken. I would not go back. One plus is that they leave the water pitcher at your table. It was really busy and quite popular maybe we got there on an "off" day.

We eat in there often. Breakfast choices are all done exactly as you like. Friendly staff, clean @ all areas, very popular with the locals as we see the same people in there quite often.

They have a terrific selection and really good food. You can't go wrong here. No place else in Salinas I want to go for breakfast or brunch.

I highly recommend First Awakenings, but be prepared for a wait on weekend mornings. There was even a Farmer's market across the street Saturday morning. Salinas was home for 30 years and we'd been to First Awakenings many times. We even introduced it to our Brazilian exchange student who still remembers how good it was.
Saturday morning it was as...
