It wasn't as good as Gary Danko's but it should be in the same sentence. Each component to the meal was done with sophistication and class, but not snooty. I would rather save my money and eat here once every three months than eat anywhere else in Sacramento for less.

It's hard to find, but worth it. Mulvaney's Building & Loan is in an old historic brick building in downtown Sacramento. Because it's historic, they aren't allowed to put a big sign outside. Loved our dinner here. Went for a birthday; had a delicious meal from start to finish. Everything was perfect, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun. It felt like you were at a friends house and they were making you dinner. Only reason it isn't number 1? ....I haven't been to all the restaurants in Sac yet :)

We sat outside in the courtyard and it was beautiful. The food was very good and service excellent. Nice romantic dining spot.

I love the B&L everyone is fun, friendly and the food is good. Always check out what barkeep, Dan has brewing as their special cocktail, you will be surprised. A MUST go to in Sac.
