The restaurant is described as a 1920s Craftsman, but my party of five was sent to an austere curtained patio. We got no warning when I made the reservation. With the heaters it was partly hot and partly cold. The food was pretty good, but after your meal the valet aims your car into a derelict factory area that sends... More

We had the mushroom risotto for a starter and lamb and cod for our main courses. The mushroom risotto was excellent -- the best mushroom risotto we have eaten in at least 5 years -- and the cod contained an interesting and very tasty melange of fennel, caper berries, and deep fried elephant garlic slices in a fresh made tomato sauce.... Wow! Had dinner there Sunday night. Absolutely fabulous food! We have often gone to the Raymond for birthday celebrations but now they must have a new chef. The food, which has always been good, was superb! Each dish was innovative, combining unusual tastes that complemented each other very well. I'm running out of superlatives. This might have been my most... More

Went to brunch to catch up with some good friends. Easy to miss as it is tucked away in a little cottage house in sort of a commercial area. Good for conversation and food was delicious with some standard fare as well as some nice tweaks to standards(eg eggs benedict with avocado). Although they really should invest in an expresso... Stopped at the The Raymond restaurant on New Year's Eve day while checking out the Rose Bowl floats. One of the few casual restaurants I can remember that offers valet parking during the day. The restaurant appears to be situated in a converted single family dwelling, so the dining rooms are small and intimate, as is the bar area. However,... More

While staying in Pasadena I invited my nephew and his girlfriend for dinner. They choose "The Raymond", and what a great choice it was! The location is a bit hidden, if you don't know the area but when you found it, the party gets off. The food is truly amazing. Everything is cooked to perfection with great tasts. Winelovers have... Response from Event Coordinator at the Raymond: We are excited to help you have your special day, just as this was discussed the day you were gracious enough to come visit. We are appreciative you stayed at The Raymond and your day will be great. Discrepancies: - the restaurant was not cleared out to decorate on time (event starts at... More
