This Italian restaurant is at the top of Morro Bay Blvd, far from the harbor. It's a bright airy bar and dining room. Cocktails were creative and STRONG. The Caesar salad was perfectly grilled Romaine halves with shaved cheese and a separate anchovey (for those who may not like them). Fantastic dressing. Best I've found in the Western World! Wife... Sit at the bar and watch amazing culinary creations as you sip a fine wine. Excellent food and service. A must stop when you are in Morro Bay!

Wish I'd had my camera with me! I'm seldom motivated to take pictures of the food I eat at restaurants, but Giancarlo's presentation is an inspiration. The plates are beautifully and deliciously garnished, mostly with fresh vegetables. On a recent evening, we ordered veal marsala and bacon wrapped filet. The filet arrived atop a bed of fresh spinach, with golden... More

Very good service, and food was really good. I had the veal and my wife had the linguini and clams. Only downside was that it took a long time to get our entrees (we didn't order them until after we had our salads)

The homemade pasta was delicious. The wine selection was good. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Looks like lots of locals go here.

The food in this upper end Italian restaurant is excellent!! It appears that each dish is prepared as they are ordered - no kettles with "meals" ready to go. This doesn't mean that the sauces havn't been simmering so that the flavors can blend, but that it didn't come out of a can. We use Giancarlo's for those times when... More

This is my favorite spot to take out-of-town visitors who don't want a "fish and chips" trap down on the Embarcadero. The food is very good with fresh ingredients and prepared to order - so plan to spend a little extra time as needed. There's always a huge selection of daily specials for both appetizers and entrees as well as... More

We had a delicious meal in this popular Italian restaurant near downtown Morro Bay. Not touristy at all. There isn't a water view but that didn't bother us since we were more interested in excellent food. It was also an easy walk from our hotel, which was a plus for us.

We ate here while staying in Morro Bay and had not only one bad experience but two. The first meal took over an hour to get our half cooked pizza and our server was almost never around. Being our first visit we went back with some friends thinking maybe we just hit a bad night, but the second meal and service... More

My wife and I vacationed in Morro Bay in September 2012, and we went to Giancarlo's on recommendations from a few of the locals. It is not on the waterfront as most restaurants are in Morro Bay, but it was worth the drive up the hill to Giancarlo's. They had an excellent wine selection, and the pasta was five-star. We... More
