If you can't make it to Paris, and find yourself in Monterey, come on over to Parker-Lusseau for an incredible journey. Just the smell of breads, cakes and pastries baking makes you feel warm and comfortable. It will be difficult for you to pick something from the bakery case because everything looks so good. I really like the Almond Croissant... More

This is one of our two "must do's" in Monterey/Carmel. We have come here 4x in the last two years (multi-day stays), and consider this the best French bakery we've found in our extensive retirement travels around Northern CA. The Hartnell location is bigger (still small, though) than the Munras location. At both, the good stuff sells out early. We... More

Small shop tucked away behind a mexican restaurant serving oh so California goodies that you won't find in a donut shop. More

Parker-Lusseau really know what they are doing. The desserts are so fresh and they melt in you mouth. I love going to the bakery to read the paper, have a latte and eat a yummy pastry. More

True French bakery with charming antique decor, french accented baker, yummy pastries, excellent coffee. Walk down a flower-lined pathway behind the Mexican and Chinese restaurants to find this tiny boite. We enjoyed the almond croissant, thick with almond paste, and the apricot tarte with fresh-roasted apricots on a bed of pistachios. More

Best pastries on the Peninsula. They have two locations, one next to the post office...which is nice to sit and sip coffee at. The other is on Munras. Less ambiance, but this is where they do the baking and there is more room. Gotta go! More

I had Googled French Patisseries in Monterey only to find the most fabulous one nestled right across the street from Hotel Abrego where I was staying at. Parker-Lusseau Pastries at 731 Munras Ave, Monterey, Ca, had the most delectable adventures my husband and I ever tasted. We bought an almond croissant, an apple/cranberry croissant, and a lemon tart to share... More

Entering P-L is *exactly* as if you step into a French bakery shop -- although the French equivalent would not serve coffee, of course. Highly recommended for a proper continental breakfast. My thanks to the reviewer below who pointed me to the "bichon au citron", which is indeed a special treat. Biggest gripe is that (as in France) many pastries... More

Came here with friends. The almond croissant is to die for! Flakey and creamy- delicious! Coffee was surprisingly a bonus as it was also fantastic. Added 4 ciabiatta rolls to bring home, they were gone before lunch! My kids thought they were awesome and couldn't wait for lunch. Best ever! Limited seating in both locations, can order night before to... More

Stumbled upon P-L on our first morning and had the fabulous coffee along with really delicious quiches (try the tomato goat cheese...divine). Had to add a chocolate croissant and a strawberry rhubarb danish which melted in our mouths. Returned the following morning...and the following morning... When we return we will plan a picnic and take the yummy looking sandwiches from... More
