In an episode 7 of Season 3 of my favourite show - 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', as he pets Jeff's German Shepherd dog 'Oscar', Larry David remarks that "Its nice to be affectionate to something German - you don't get the opportunity that often". This pretty much sums up how I feel about Rockenwagner 3 Squares Cafe in L.A. I was... More

Came for the Pretzel burger and avocado fries which seems to be the well known things to try here. Both were good and well worth trying. The pretzel bun is different and makes it unique to other burgers around - the meat and filling isn't especially better, but at least people are thinking of ideas. The menu is otherwise full... More

This is hands-down the best place on Abbott Kinney --- or Venice for that matter. It is the perfect neighborhood place with the kind of satisfying and delicious food that makes you HAPPY in a warm setting that is 100% California. And the bakery next door -- fuggeddaboutit -- the pretzel Mecca (who knew I was deprived of pretzel croissants... More

Tried the polish omelet and the cottage cheese with mushroom omelet. Both were just ok, missing seasoning. The cottage cheese was runny so too much liquid running out of the omelet. The home made pretzels is a nice touch and was good but found a hair in the butter. Service was good. Omelet about 15$/pp.

I really like the quality and consistency of the home cooked meals here. My office is one block away and it is hard not to get used to the comfort of the menu here. The breakfast is always hearty and I even really enjoy the coffee. I have only had lunch here twice. Once I had a large salad that... More

for breakfast or a Tri-berry scone, or a pretzel croissant to go can make a perfect morning. The bakery is sprinkled with selected fresh baked pastries, get there early as they run out FAST! It's a neighborhood breakfast place. The sister-restaurant next door serves eggs, sausage, German pancake, etc. Inside or outdoor seating are the choices and I prefer outside... More

This place, with pleasant open window porch setting, is so noisy you will shout at your companions. The food servings of breakfast were not very generous, but that is OK because it wasn't that great. The man out front who gets you to a table is very nice.

Heard reviews, decided to try it. Thought the food was very good, little pricey, but what do you expect on Abbot Kinney Blvd near Venice Beach :)

Have to agree with everyone that talks about the unique and wonderful food at this restaurant. The Tuna Burger and Special Scallop dishes were wonderful, along with the desserts. However, whenwe were finished, we could not get anyone's attention for our bill. We sat with at the table for 15 minutes, then walked to the hostess stand and asked for... More
