I always try and make it to a Roy's when I'm out west, and it was great as usual. One of the best and most delicious happy hours out there, and the Roy's in La Jolla does not disappoint. My favorite is the spicy tuna roll, with the shrimp roll and beef sliders a close second. And the staff is... More

We did not make reservations, but we were able to get a table in the bar. The atmosphere was nice. We enjoyed our dinner. But I must say my highlight was not ordering the desert which sounded amazing and I heard so much about. Instead we had a chocolate blackberry martini. It is now one of my favorite deserts.

After a rather disappointing experience in the neighbourhood, we were very happily surprised with the service and food quality at Roy's in La Jolla. Excellent reception, friendly staff all around and a warm atmosphere. We were met with great responsiveness to our request for another table and assistance with choosing appropriate local wines to go with our food. The authentic... More

We visit Roy's for happy hour when the traffic is too bad to leave La Jolla at 5pm...which happens frequently. They've recently made renovations/upgrades to the restaurant and bar, expanding both areas. Their Aloha Hour/happy hour is a terrific deal. Delicious appetizers and specialty cocktails for $6 each (a Makers Mark manhattan for $6...awesome!). I suggest you sit at the... More

Expensive, so it is for very special occasions if your budget is tight. Portions are small but deliciously done. Close to UCSD.

My husband and I ate at Roy's last night. They have a prixe fixe menu for $36 that can't be beat! I chose the pork belly appetizer, the hanger steak, and the chocolate souffle. Unbelievably delicious! On Mondays, the prixe fixe menu is everything on their regular menu! Try the jalapeno margarita - yum! Roy's never fails to please!

This is a pretty restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely but the food was expensive and just average. We were a bit disappointed with the service. They seemed to "ignore us" to fill our water or even to check on us to see if we needed anything. Not sure if we will visit again. Disappointing as we have been there in... More

We have visited several restaurants in the Roy's brand in various cities. This restaurant was exceptionally attractive inside, with a spacious, yet inviting ambiance. I see from other reviews that it has been remodeled... I just assumed it was new. The food was very good, as always. My friend and I found that a round of their specialty drinks, followed... More

We had dinner with an old friend at Roy's several nights ago. Mt wife and friend loved the fresh sushi. I had the spicy shrimp on leeks with asparagus; my wife had the mahi mahi with macadamia nuts. Both dishes were excellent! Service was prompt and efficient. The restaurant was very busy, so it was sort of noisy. All-in-all, a... More
