The view. Service was great. Thought the fish was disappointing --the grouper and the filet of sole.

We drifted in on a Tuesday evening and were luck to get a table.
The ambience is really nice. Old school quiet and dark, with a great view over the ocean.
Attentive, but not too overbearing service.
Great cocktails and a really interesting menu.
we had a tuna tartare, apple salad, scallops and chicken. All very well cooked and presented....

we had eaten in the new Eddie V/S in Scottsdale and thought it was excellent. This place, overlooking the ocean is its equal nan d then some as the views match the food and servfice
Stopped in for lunch. Sat on the patio of the lounge. What an amazing view of the cove. Had a nice salad, champagne and a rich banana bread desert to share with friends!! WOW! It was a little chilly that day but the waiter moved one of the patio heaters over to our table. Perfect!
View great especially at sunset. Food top flight and service excellent. One problem is getting there at rush hour. Wow!
1st rate service from the start. Complimentary bubbly and dessert to help us celebrate. Rose petals on the table. Adam (our waiter) was great - attentive but not pushy. Great view and ambiance. Live music (jazz at that) was an added bonus.
The setting, food, drinks, and service are all good here. The outdoor bar is nice and get's a professional crowd but sometimes you get the instant idiot (just ad alcohol). The restaurant staff handles that with charm and a firm hand. It is pricey and there are less expenses options but you won't be dissapointed here.
While in La Jolla last week I stopped by with a friend of mine that lives in La Jolla and sat at the bar and had drinks and appretizers.
My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times as well.
First off the location is outstanding while perched up on a bluff off of Prospect in the Village....

We were warmly welcomed .
We had made our reservation on Open Table and we were seated upstairs, outdoors near the outer plexiglass overlooking the cove and cave as we had requested- what a great way to begin!
The wine list and menu had a nice variety. We enjoyed at lovely Pinot Grigio.
We shared the batterfried oysters and caesar...

we went on the recommendation of the concierge at the Grand Del Mar. The view was spectacular, the food was amazing and the waiter was a seasoned pro! The Ahi tuna and the Crab fried rice were out of this world good.
