my daughters brought me here to celebrate Mother's Day. food and service was excellent, every attention to detail. i have a diary allergy and they made every effort to help me with my selections even checking with the chef to make sure, no dairy. the halibut and veggys were grilled to perfection. nice wine list but wish they had more... Chef Scott Sauer's menu is really good and the atmosphere is fun! Don't be surprised if you run into someone you know!

This is a popular place so my wife and I decided to try it. It was a terrible experience. I ordered a roasted beet salad; the beets were pickled not roasted. My wife ordered a caesar salad and was given the white core section of the romaine with virtually no green. The server was very nice, but the manager was... More

The quality of the food is always ver good. Their sweet potato fries are outstanding. Great wine choices and they make their own bread which is outstanding. I would highly recommend dinner here.

The food here is often good and my wife and I both liked it and used to go there almost every weekend. I went there with business colleagues for dinner one evening (about 5:30 in the summer) and several cars were broken into in the parking lot that evening. When we tried to tell them about it they pretty much... More

This was my second visit to Max's, several years after my first experience. Since my husband had not been there before, we decided it would be an excellent choice for a nice dinner out. We don't dine out often anymore due to the substandard service we have come to know as normal for this area, but looked forward to a... More

I have wanted to stay a fan of Max's, but based on my last three experiences I just can't be. They can't seem to keep consistency up, nor do they care. This last visit happened because Trelio in Clovis was booked solid. Max's was not. Soup, watery. Meat overcooked, sides salty, coffee brewing must have rushed and not allowed to... More

This was my first visit to Fresno, so I once again relied on Open Table's reviews to make a dining selection. The reviews were right on and I had a very nice experience. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu was varied and had a nice mix of fish and other meats. The ahi tuma appetizer is pricey, but out... More

The place is definitely for foodies and wine drinkers who are over 30. Great wine list and excellent food. Prices are a little high for Fresno, but everything was very well prepared. The service was professional. The art on the walls was not my taste, but didn't distract from the overall experience. I would go there again.
