It looked like the perfect "hole in the wall" type of homemade establishment. We were served stale tortilla chips and underwhelming salsa so we were a bit nervous about the food. Well, the food was unbelievably good. I got the special "Spicy Beef" which was in a green sauce with lots of black pepper and I am still craving it.... More

It was pretty busy but the servers were still there for a smile and very attentive to our group of 5. I had to take my plate home and enjoyed it the next day for lunch. Great place for margaritas!

If you like spicy, you'll love their salsa! Really the best on the mountain. I live in Big Bear and La Mulita really does have the best Mexican food. Everthing is fresh and from scratch. The staff is so friendly. Nothing fancy so don't expect ambiance, but absolutely do try it for good food!

My family and I went for the first time to La Mulita and were so surprised when the food we ordered was absolutly delicious! We ordered two burritos which were very large and contained high quality ingrediance. We ordered a steak Quesidia for our little boy and I found myself wanting to try a 2nd piece. The steak was high... More

Went in tonight for fish and shrimp tacos as the family is night skiing. Again....a wonderful meal, with nice service and good food. I got the fish taco and a shrimp taco...both superb. I called in advance and they were packing it up for me when I got there. The menu is in the local Big Bear phonebook, and they... More

I have been in Big Bear for 25 years and never tried this place until this afternoon. It is NY Eve and we wanted something to hold us over till dinner. We called in and ordered a burrito and some fish tacos. The burrito was HUGE. Delicious red sauce on top as we ordred it 'wet'. The grilled fish tacos... More

Yep! Best tasting Mexican food on the mountain! -- very authentic. So be ready for them to take their time. This is not a fast food joint.

Homemade from scratch. Not out of a can! Genuine Meskin food like my Abuela Lucy used to cook! Can't be beat! Good prices, too.

I love the homey atmosphere that this restaurant provides. The food is excellent, and the people are very friendly. I drive up there just to eat that asada quesadilla with yummy sour cream. Also, it is always great to support a family run business, especially the type that dedicates their time and energy helping orphans. La Mulita rocks!!!
