This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, the Movenpick. The food we had was wonderful and was much more authentic than most of the other food we tried in Petra. The prices were also fantastic. Our waiter was very nice and attentive.

There are lots of options to eat in Petra along with several restaurants persuading people to eat in. But Al-Arabi is a class apart. The food is cheap as well as quality is great. The service is good as well. They do not charge more from tourists which mostly happens in touristic places

This restaurant is a popular place with both locals and tourists. I had the falafel with a salad and my husband a shoarma plate. You get very large and tasty portions for a good price (regarding the fact that you are in the Petra area during high season).

The place is always full (busy atmosphere, but you can still relax) and we went there twice (plus one stop to pick up falafel sandwiches for the road). It is not fancy, but food is delicious and at great prices. Service was good, too. Try mango juice - it was better than in a 4 star hotel in Aqaba!

Found this in the Rough Guide, but the food wasn't great. You can do better. Cool and dark on a hot day, and the take away sems popular, but the food was pretty unremarkable.

Our taxi driver steered us (literally) to this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service very attentive.

Don't be fooled that you have to eat at the hotels while in Petra/Wadi Musa. A short walk up (and I do mean up) the hill brings you to the main roundabout and a few cafe/restaurants on the left hand side. We went to Al-Arabi having read reviews in the Rough Guide and enjoyed arabic chicken, fantastic falafel and scrumptious... More

We found everywhere in Petra as one might expect to be a ripoff, even for poor quality food. Al-Arabi was the exception. You can have breakfast falafel and tea for 2 JD, fuul and muttabal and hummus and a salad between two for 5-6JD for lunch and then shish tawouk for dinner for 5 JD! Portions are generous, service is... More
