Tasty Dominican dishes. Prices are good. Handy spot in the center of town. Staff are friendly. Chicken dish with Dominican sauce is worth trying.

If you are fine with simple places, and can handle places that are not as shinny as the trendy ones, then visit this place for some tasty savoring. And the guy serving you has an infectious smile.
I ate here twice. It's on the street, not the beach and considered a "local" joint. A small "pollo guisado" (chicken stew) was delicious and filling. Had "el mero" (grouper) the other time and it was great.
Communication difficult even with a translator. Wanted whole grilled fish did not have said have fillets. Asked for red snapper on menu did not have. They said have grouper asked if it could be grilled. said yes. Got fried fish Went there based on trip advisor review. Just o.k.
No offence by my title but we have renamed the restaurant Stewed and Fried as all the food is either or!
We like it here and have eaten here a few times. I have had fried chicken which was delicious and also chicken in a sauce which to me was stewed! but again good. The local food is well priced...

I recommend 'sancocho' the hearty soup made from vegetables and meat, also 'chivo guisado' stewed goat because they are difficult to find in most other places.
'batidos' or shakes...

Service and atmosphere is close to nothing in this place, as it lies right next to the main road i Cabarete and can be very noisy. But still! It is a very popular restaurant amongst both tourists and locals, because the food is very good, authentic and cheap. One definately has to drop by if in Cabarete.
We came here after a day of diving - we were starving and craving a big, hearty meal and this was PERFECT. Our dive center recommended the pork in sauce with beans and rice. A couple of us had that, the others had chicken. The salad had a great vinagrette on it and the best avocado slices. The pork was...
