We held our wedding meal at By the Bay at the end of April 2012, and Jason and his team couldn't have made it more special for us. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it, great value for money, and really good service. The restaurant also offers some of the best views of the Cobb and Lyme...

Popped into this friendly restaurant to get out of the wind and rain, and to feed toddler & baby. Were welcomed and sat on comfy leather sofas at one end of restaurant.
The restaurant was busy as was lunchtime, but plenty of staff so unsure why it took almost 20 mins to ask us what we wanted to eat and...

By the Bay did us really proud. We had a party of 18 people, 12 adults and 6 children to celebrate two adult birthdays. We booked it just two days beforehand and they were happy to do it. Some good art on the walls - we particularly liked the dog with its face out of a car door! Friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere - casual dining. Fish is a good choice here. Chips were a little bit dry the night we went but they were quite busy - otherwise food was good.

Huge windows along the length of the building. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, I loved the place because it has a kind of casual beach feel about it, everything...

I have to agree with a previous reviewer, the location and views are tremendous and the place promises so much. The staff are friendly, the furnishings are a bit confusing with a contemporary winebar and plastic seats that remind you of being at playschool.
The imporant bit is the food and drink, the food portions are certainly large but the...

My wife and I stayed in Lyme Regis ( with small dog) over Christmas week 2011. We ate out most days and 'By the Bay' was by far the most enjoyable restaurant. Excellent friendly and professional service and good range of choices on menu. The fish soup with a provencal flavour was superb (had to go back for a second...

friendly staff, view amazing! Food tasteless and thoughtless. I was so looking forward to going out with my hard earned money and was very disappointed. I would not go back.
