This isn't an artificially, tarted up historic building, it's the real genuine article. The atmosphere is spooky in a nice way, the windows rattle and the floors creak. It's an experience to be savoured. More

This is an authentic old Castle. We stayed before and always call when we are in the area - for a snack or coffee and a walk around the grounds. Love the Castle, love the silence. More

This place is the reall deal. Lovely old shppy around the edges castle with amazing staff. Family run by the Cooper family who have a love for this building and work very hard to keep it going. We went for the Sunday lunch deal: 3 courses for €27, and them a further €21 for wine. The choice, presentation and service were akl excellent, the ambiance in the restaurant and the lounges is supurb, and the staff extremely friendly, accommodating and laid-back. All in all a perfect special-Sunday venue More

We have just gone back to Markree Castle to celebrate our first Wedding Anniversary and once again, as it did on our Wedding Day, the drive towards the beautiful Majestical building filled our tummy's with romance. The staff were wonderful and the food as usual did not disappoint. We even got a complimentary glass of champagne as we sat down... More

Had lunch here with extended family. Price was quite reasonable and the food outstanding. Service was great. The grounds are beautiful; can walk around and enjoy great scenery. Had turkey and chicken sandwiches. Highly recommended More
