Nice restaurant with a waterfront view. We ate the King Crab with garlic, tomatoes and rice. Food came steaming hot. The white wine was chilled well, Service was good, and everyone was pleasant. Only one waitress spoke English, so we had to wait for her if we had questions. At the entrance, they have a nice collection of old items... More

My husband and I ate here tonight on the recommendation of our hotel. We had 2 mains - the king crab in garlic and the black hake "Tia Elvira" (in a cream sauce with king crab, mushroom and mussels). At around $130 pesos each they aren't cheap but we expected that in Ushuaia. Both dishes were excellent - they are... More

Small family restaurant on the waterfront serves fantastic spider crab & mussel soup, with local white wine. Also fresh crab & mussel spread for bread. Main course was tasty garlic crab. This is heaven for seafood lovers. Lunch ends at 3pm so don't be late! Digest the meal by walking to the nearby old prison to see art & history... More

We ate at Tia Elvira for dinner and were delighted at the decor, service, and especially the food. I had the scallops and my husband had the cod. Both dishes were beautifully presented and nicely cooked. Wine by the glass was very generous. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened for the evening and by the time we left, it... More

You can't miss any of these if you go to Ushuaia. Tia Elvira is the best place to go. Cozy place, excellent making, nice service. Don't forget to book a table in advance (ask for the "window tables") as the place is always full.

We have high standards for king crab (it MUST be fresh, not frozen) and Tia Elvira did not disappoint. It was recommended by staff in a large Patagonian gift shop that we visited and we were delighted with its location: across the street from the harbour and Beagle Channel. So we had a great view to match the food. I... More

Tia Elvira, Ushuaia We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our tour guide the first time, and the second time we went because adult son wanted a repeat. The restaurant is located on the street that runs along the harbor/waterfront in Ushuaia, Argentina and has large windows that provide diners with up-close views of the canal and the... More

Enjoyed a lunch of Argentinian steak and a Gongonzola King Crab dish that was heavenly! The restaurant was packed so service was a little on the slow side, something that was not all that uncommon in Ushuaia. We would definitely come back if our travels brought us to Ushuaia in the future.

Nice restaurant with a simple menu of great food. I think if you have only one major meal in Ushuaia, Volver is more interesting and better priced. We tried four different restaurants, and had this one for lunch. Pricier than others with similar menu, but we left full and very happy. Nice wine list as well.
