We actually chose to visit El Baqueano on our last evening in Buenos Aires after reading all the great reviews on Trip Advisor. True enough: the service is excellent, and the concept of being able to taste an assortment of exotic Argentinian meats over several courses as part of a fixed tasting menu - accompanied a delicious wine pairing -... Great well prepared meals made with ingredients from all over Argentina. There is attention to detail - wine menu is matched to the dishes. A great experience :-)

We heard ravings about the creative cuisine of El Baqueano and wanted to check it out ourselves. When we arrived, we were greeted at the door (locked, one needs to ring a bell) and welcomed in. We had a reservation but the place was mostly empty (Tuesday night, 10pm) other than one table. Shortly after we sat down, two more... More

The service was amazing, the two waitresses were so lovely and their English was very good. The meals were incredible, but small as expected with a degustation. We were able to try some delicacies we would not have otherwise, such as llama and a type of alligator. The wine pairing was also worthwhile. The only downside is that it is... More

It was better than expected in all the aspects, just follow chef's guidance to taste each dish and you will find an spectacular flavor on each bite. A must in Bs As for all the foodies.

This is one of the most original restaurants in Buenos Aires. It's exotic even for Argentines like myself. You see, you won't find here our world-class beef. Not even chicken, pork or sea fish. No Sir (or Madam)! Here you'll only eat, let's call them, alternative native animals: yacaré (aka Latin American alligator), ñandú (aka Latin American ostrich), llama, vizcacha... More

Even from my first contact with El Baqueano, by email, to make the reservation everything was so easy and polite. We were the first to arrive (20:30 is still too early to eat in BA), and were very warmly greeted by the host and the chef's wife. Quite quirky decor in a lovely old building - very atmospheric. The fixed... More
