Let's just keep perspective here. Caffe Hausbrandt is a wonderful little place, with friendly staff serving good coffee. But it's tiny, and you're hardly going to be served a 'top ten in Cape Town meal' here. I have lived in Cape Town all my life and work in the CBD, and eat out almost every working day of my life.... Thank for your feedback. I agree with you, a coffee shop should not be in the same rubric as the top Restaurants. It is a pity that there is no separate category for coffee shops. When you read our reviews, it is mostly for the coffee, Gelato and homemade Austrian Cakes as well as our funny waiters and the atmosphere... More

They make an excellent cappuccino. The stuff signs it with an grandious picture in the milk. Never seen such fine composed surface on a cappuccino. More

I have been to the Hausbrandt Caffe on green market square for several times and it is alwys phantastic. 1) the icecrema for my taste it's the best all over SA. 2) The service ... nice waiters and a very nice lady ... it seems she is leading the Caffe. Everyone os very friendly and well trained (a big plus).... More

We read about the Hausbrandt Espresso Bar and were anxious to try the "best gelato". It definitely lives up to its reputation. We tried probably every flavor available, including Cheese Cake Cherry, Cookies, Hazelnut and even some of the refreshing sorbets, like Raspberry and Passionfruit. A treat for your palate! This South African Winter that came up with temperatures of 25 degrees and more instead of 10 to 15 made us enjoy the vibe of the beautiful Caffe Hausbrandt. The service was always very good, coffee and icecream delicious. More

Relax, enjoy good coffee in a friendly atmosphere while watching Greenmarket Square bustling with activity. You can observe the whole diverse range of the different people of Cape Town without leaving your chair. Don't forget to tip "Joe the Busker".He has been singing and playing his drum there for more then 10 years now, providing the perfect soundtrack. More

You won't regret having a cup of coffee at Caffe Hausbrandt. It is the best coffee in town and the shop is perfectly located (Green Market Square). I had a home made applestrudel with my cappuccino and it was divine. The home made ice cream is also a must have. And on top of it, the staff is super friendly. More
