Family owned place! The food is authentic and really tasty traditional Costa Rican food, and across the street they have their own little organic farm where they grow products that they use in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy, even though it has room to sit many. The gardens and vegetation surrounding the restaurant are just... More

We visited this restaurant on the way to the volcano and it was probably the best we had been to during our stay in Costa Rica. Chubasco is located at a fairy high location so the temperature is nicely refreshing. The ground of the restaurant are immaculate with nicely manicured grass and gardens set in a canopy of lush trees... More

Excellent food. The rooms are pretty, pleasantly decorated. We didn't have time to figure this out as we departed at 8, but only 1 of the 3 rooms our group used had hot water in the morning for showers which was a huge disappointment as it was our first hotel on arrival. So 6 of 8 of didn't shower that... More

We stayed 3 nights. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms and the location in the woods nearby the road to the vulcano is nice.

Chubascos opens at 10am.We always arrive before 11 and let me tell you its worth it. The place gets packed. they turn people away at a certain point. I always go for breakfast and the weather and food are fantastic. We are there every Sunday. A must.

I had only one day to explore during a business trip and was so glad a friend took me here. Such a pretty setting; we sat on the covered terrace surrounded by beautiful flowers and hummingbirds! Service was very warm and friendly. We were a group of six and so shared many dishes. If my only experience here is any... More
