Went here with in a group and we mostly tried different dishes which we all had a taste of and all the food I had from octopus to burgers was really good. It's a bit on the pricy side but that's shanghai really. Really liked this restaurant but regret spending one night eating the food the same as what I... More

Awere that reviews were not exactly positive, we nevertheless decided to try this restaurant located beside a pond in People's Park. To our pleasent surprise, the food was very good (specially the Lobster Rissotto), the wine appropiate, desserts attractive, and the price not out of line with Shangai's top restaurants. We definitely recommend the place!

If you want to pay a lot for non-Chinese food, the setting here is impressive. However, while it claims to be North African/Moroccan, it isn't at all like the food I ate either in Morocco or even the Moroccan pavilion in Disneys Orlando Epcot(which was good and much better). The service was good. Most of the diners around me were... More

The setting for this restaurant is lovely. Nestled amongst the greenery of People's Square, Barbarossa's location could make it a must do experience in Shanghai. Unfortunately, location alone does not make a great restaurant. The food was lackluster and definitely not worth the cost. We had lobster risotto that was one note, all lemon. The prawn ravioli was a mish... More

I went to Barbarossa on 22nd March 2012 along with a friend. Our agenda was to enjoy Shisha. Incidentally , Shanghai doesn't seem to have too many good restaurants for Shisha. This place though turned out to be amazing. The atmosphere was extremely good. It was swarmed by expats and Chinese alike. Great English music was playing. Staff was good... More

Great atmosphere, beautiful location, wonderful cocktails. Visit this restaurant in Xintiandi in the Spring and Summer and watch the locals play cards, look for husbands for the children and dance. Wonderful place with loads of atmosphere.

Located in people's park this restaurant is located in a nice area with a good view. The service is good and they have a good selection of food. Just be mindful of the portions. Esp. The starters are large plates. Two starters will do for 4 people. Main dishes are normal size. Make sure to have a reservation or do... More

Handy location near People's Square. Good set lunch offer though the new menu is not as good as it was. Lovely view. Reasonable service.

Nice place and a little difficult to find at night inside the park. Fish and chips were average, nothing to write home about. Portions are small Atmosphere is nice and probably more beautiful during the day. The most disappointing thing was the service. In my opinion nothing special and I wasn't impressed.
