Good selection of Indian dishes from Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu; well presented and delicious food. Service was prompt and courteous. Weekday lunchtime so restaurant was pretty empty. Will certainly go again. More

Well, they have a menu. But there's nothing called South Indian food really, it is region specific, and this restaurant overlooks that fact. We tried a lot of stuff, everything tasted the same, with no taste or character shining through. We may have gone on a bad day, but wouldn't want to go again. More

delicious authentic south indian food. The appam and koorg chicken is a must have. The ambience and decor is excellent. Tamarind is an example where the city again has kept upto the expectation of serving the widest rang of cuisines..wish every one a happy meal ;) More

the place is very crowded and noisy. The food service is cold. The staircase leading to the restaurant is very long and inconvienient for elders. There is a small dirty lift that is used as a service lift that may be availed which spoils the mood even before entering the restaurant. The service boys need to be trained. More

Tamarind has been consistent over the years and that has been its biggest success point. A lot of restaurants start well but taper down with time. They managed to keep up with their reputation and have continued with the enormous job of ensuring that Kolkata foodies do not think South Indian food starts with Idli and finishes with a Dosa.... South Indian variety, interiors, attitude of staffs & FOOOOOOOD! We keep on visiting at least once in a month. Our relation started with this joint when they were at a different location & we went to celebrate a family occasion. Being a joint family with age group ranging from 3+ to 70+ only a good experience will call for another... More

I am not a big fan of South Indian cuisine, but I had heard a lot of good things about Tamarind and decided to give it a try. I must say I was very impressed with the quality of food served at the restaurant. We ordered a Chicken Hyderabadi Biryani, a Massa (Mutton) Stew and a Prawn Pepper Fry. All... More

I was at Tamarind last night with my friends, we were a group of nine thamizhians. Ambiance was great and I fell in love with the restaurant when they served butter milk as welcome drink. The starters were very good and the soups were not great. Hyderabadi briyani was a total disaster, it was not even 10 percent of the... More

I went with my father and cousin and it was a delight. We had Hyderabadi biryani, a dish with spicy crab, and lamb in coconut curry. We were also given spicy butter milk, which I was apprehensive to try but turned out to be great! I will go back here again. More
