Me and wife visited the town restuarant in mid Jan (2012) on my wife's B'day. On entering we thought - its a smallish place, but we were given a comfortable place for 2. We ordered - corn panki, moong dal chilla, ponk bhel (a winter special item) and a kokum drink. This was our first time at this place -... More

One of the very few vegetarian restaurants I would gladly eat at. Love their variety of authentic food from various regions of India, especially the farali food - their malpua and jalebis are excellent. Wish the restaurant was bigger though - the wait to get a table is sometimes too long. More

Great Gujarati cuisine ...authentic and pure veg. The dishes here are what your grandmom used to make ...not something you have in a normal Veg restaurant. Their simple Khichadi's have varieties ...try all. Loved their papdi baingan veg in green masala, Moong dal Khichadi ... can go on ...just try all the dishes ...each one is amazing. You cannot go... This restaurant is just opposite the famous Babulnath temple in South Mumbai. This restaurant specializes in Gujarati dishes such as khichdi, kadhi, undhyu and sabudana vada. The food is quite tasty and the service is good. The amvbiance is also quite nice. Gujrati people like this place but people who would like to taste authentic Gujarati food can go to... More

I remember a time when Soam used to have delicious Gujarati food, in all its variety. This was a couple of years ago when the restaurant had newly opened. Sadly, I can no longer say the same. The last few times we visited, we found some items to be OK. But there were others that we regretted ordering, to say... More

Should try Moong Dal Chila - This was part of diet section... Made well and was served with dahi. Dhansak with rice: ok Kolivada Batata Vada: they serve 4 pcs and it has lot of... More

Their Pankhi was truly outstanding.Served on a plantain leaf, this truly was delightful. Their Methi.....(The full name eludes my memory) was outastanding. Poori chole was a let down with chole being undercooked. As usual their accompaniments (chutneys in particular) were memorable. This was my second visit.Though a tad expensive, the taste remains a treat for the tastebuds. More

Not just the regular off beat food joint. Had been there during the fasting period of the Jains and did not find the rush that I could have imagined around the place. the special Satvik or Jain menu was good and had tried the Undhiyo which was made with Kand . The low calorie pita pocket with Jowar and pea... More

It has a very wide variety of food, most of it good. Right from Gujarati to street food in a hygienic environment. It gets a bit heavy though. Service is moody though. Sometimes excellent and sometimes can be even rude. More
