Possibly the best food in Chefchaouen....The 80d set menu is excellent value......cosy atmosphere on cold days

Excellent value at 80 dh for 3 courses. Authentic Moroccan food served in a small riad-type restaurant, just behind the large mosque in Chefchaouen. The starters and desserts are simple but excellent. A special mention for the excellent local goat's cheese, which you can have as a starter with salad. There was a good choice of main dishes. We ate here on our first night in Chefchaouen. Cold, wet weather, but a cosy fire and additional heating inside. Food was served promptly with one course following another quite quickly. There was a good choice on the 3 courses for 80 DRM menu. Between us we had soup (harira), chicken / lemon tajine, beef / vegetable tajine, lemon tart....

Food was amazing, no alcohol. Ate like queens.
The surrounding atmosphere was what you would picture it to be.

We ate here twice for dinner. The sweet meat tagine was very good. Also, the harira soup was hot and delicious.
There are cheaper options (about 40 dh) in the square if 3 courses is too much food for you.

We also tried the kebabs, which were tasty, and a sweet tagine (prunes, sultanas and caremalised onions with chicken - yum!) and the chicken and lemon tagine, which also hit the spot.
