Sweet little place, in a place very unexpected. Nice little vibe. Comfy lounges and good ambience. Meals were good and filled the gap nicely. If your after a chilled out venue then this is the place for you. If your after 5 star fine dining, the give it a miss. We would definitely go back, it was our favourite.

This bar would be impossible to find unless you seek it out. It is at the top of the Nak hotel but it is not advertised at street level. We were reccommended to go there and we were not disappointed ( and returned for a second visit). The food is lovely and the cocktails are amazing.( especially the mango daqari).... More

We found this by accident - and had an amazing evening. The service was brilliant, the cocktails good and the ambience wonderful. We relaxed on the sofas and spent over an hour enjoying the cool breeze and views. Cocktails were slightly more expensive than elsewhere - but still good value for the location.

Growing weary of Sandakan and given other travel factors we were facing at the time, Balin was exactly what we needed. You wouldn't expect it to be such a nice place when you see the hotel from the outside. The rooftop garden is lovely and the food they serve is very nice. Maybe not the cheapest option in Sandakan, but a nice treat with Italian food.
