A great place to have an all around Ecuadorian typical food. The Cebiches, Arroz con menestra, Hornado and other ecuadorean dishes all in one place
This restaurant offers a wide variety of the best typical food from Ecuador. Price is very reqasonable, and service is excellent. The location of the restaurant is very good. There are other options for typical food, but after talking with several locals from Guayaquil and after experiencing this restaurant myself, La Canoa is the best option.
I love this restaurant and go there all the time. I usually have arroz con menestra con carne asada- steak with rice and lentils. I also get a maduro con queso- banana with local cheese. For some reason the Fanta Orange drink there tastes better than anywhere else I have been- no idea why. Wide ranging menu- extremely crowded during...

You can find local food, better and cheaper. Not to fine of this place. Look for tipical, ask local people
we went here on a local colleague's recommendation. cost $38 for two for 2 courses, so extremely affordable. was very happy with the service and the food. It's simple but very tasty. Some combinations were a bit foreign (e.g. lentils with caramalised bananas on the side) but was great to experience some local and affordable cuisine. Can only get beer...

The ceviche was quite good, and my lasagne was fine. Waiters who speak English are directed to tables as needed. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment, especially if you are...

If you happen to be in Guayaquil and want to taste Ecuadorian food without having to travel to all Ecuadorian regions, then La Canoa is your best bet !
This restaurant has the most authentic and all diverse Ecuadorian dishes. It's even famous among Guayaquilian (if this word even exists).
I was there once but had so many dishes :)...

They serve great food, especially meats, and patacones (fried plaintains). The fruit drinks are also wonderful. The staff speaks good English so you can ask about anything you don't understand. It seemed to be busy most of the time but we always got a table.
i cant compare prices, i did not like very much the ambiente but i loved the kitchen and the service
Prices are significantly higher than in the past, but La Canoa serves good local food in a nice setting at the center of Guayaquil. It is frequented by Ecuadorian professionals who work in the center of the city. The service is good and the location is generally safe.
