I had a noodle soup (Azumi udon) which was yummy and plentiful. However I had to wait for nearly 30 min for the soup while other tables seemed to wait for a shorter time for their meals. Maybe because I couldn't speak Portuguese :-(

The food was delicious, the service could have been nicer, they charged 12 reals per person to be in nice japanese style private room
An amazing atmosphere , really resembles Japan ... The variety of dishes is awesome , with some options i have never seen in other Japanese restaurants in Rio. The prices is quite expensive, but worth while the experience ... The staff is extremelly polite and helpful , tries to explain every dish in detail if you ask .... Really, the...

I have been eating at Azumi for at least 20 years now. It is, without a doubt, one of my top favorite restaurants in the world. By no means inexpensive, the traditional Japanese dishes ("home cooking" style) that are rarely offered at similar venues, as well as the many delicacies on (and off) the menu, and the standards (sushi/sashimi/tempura, etc.)...

The food was very good, specially the tuna! It´s quite expensive. Service was ok, but they are not very nice/ friendly.
We love this place! Love sitting by the bar and watching the chiefs preparing sushi and sashimi! Even though its not cheap, but very well worth the visit...especially for the melting sashimi taste in your mouth!
If you are not japanese you have no chance to know what is on the menu. the dishes have very poor description. it would be good to have some pictures to know at least how the food you order looks like since you don't know what is it made of. We have ordered 3 dishes, 2 for me, 1 for...

I was hesitant to go to this restaurant due to all the 3 stars and less reviews of this place, but my husband and i decided to give it a shot as we were craving for Japanese food. I was so glad that we did! The food was very authentic and delicious! The sashimi was very fresh! The decor of...

The atmosphere is totally traditional. Inside you'd not tell you're in Copacabana - Rio de Janeiro, but you'd think you're in common restaurant in Japan. First of all, the sushi chef has proper training, not like many others Japanese restaurants in Rio, but a formal sushi training.
The menu is more than well-known to the western people sushi-sashimi dishes, but...

After the Copacabana we went to have sushi at Azumi. (just two blocks from the Copa) They open at 7pm and we got there around 8:30 or 9pm and waited about 20 minutes for a seat at the sushi bar on a Wednesday night. The octopus carpaccio was really good as was the salmon sushi and miso soup.
