I have already gone to Capim Santo in Sao Paulo, but this one in Trancoso is even better. I went there twice in a week. Dont leave without eating the best desert ever: the black and white chocolate mousse.

It is pricey, but the food and beverages are marvelous and criative. There is no mistakes, Capim Santo deserves be recognized as the best restaurant in Trancoso.
The fruit juices here are truly imaginative and delicious (for example, mixing lemongrass, lime and ginger), the garden/jungle ambiance is lovely, and the service attentive. However, both of our seafood dishes, one of which was supposed to be a Thai green curry, were downright bland. It is hard to imagine that, given the rich flavors available from Bahian and other...

Having dinner at Capim you never mistake. It is pricey. Takes long time to get a table and to get your food served, but year after year the quality maintains good while other restaurants are unstable.
We tried this restaurant on the advice of our Pousada, and TA's ranking convinced us.
What strikes most about this restaurant is the atmosphere. Very laid back and relaxed. Lots of different areas, so no matter how many people fill the place (and trust me, there is a line up) it doesn't feel crowded. The design is a mix of...

Charming and cozy restaurant. Sea food is the specialty of the house. Juices are great with different mix of fruits. Service also good.

It is located inside the Quadrado, the tourist center, and though the Pousada was a little more expensive for our budget, we went to their restaurant one night and did not regret it.

The menu is interesting, modem and varied. Mixing local...

The restaurant is located inside Capim Santo Pousada. They have a nice menu, with good fish. seafood and meat options. The food is well prepared, the fishes and seafood are fresh. It's a nice dining experience, however not as fancy as El Gordo. At my opinion, the best Quadrado's restaurant.
Am used to great restaurants and love eating well...this restaurant was a real disappointment...I had fish with walnuts but i really did not think that the two ingredients matched or enhanced the dish experience. overall in a great restaurant i truly think the tastes should be balanced so to create an exquisite mouth experience (HERE NOT THE CASE!)
