If you like bland food -- eat at Threadgill's, you'll love it. The food has no taste and the ambiance needs a refurbishing.
Flavorless and horrible texture... They do have great top shelf margaritas and fried green tomatoes though... BUT, this place is NOT what I thought considering all the hype it had gotten in the past..
Almost 30 people, and they had no problem with us. Pulled tables together in the back room, plenty of space. Many items to chose on the menu. They get your food to you quick, very good service. Four of us had lunch here on a Monday. Visiting from out of town, it was the first time for all of us. I had heard for years about the great food so we decided to give it a try. We chose the location on Riverside Drive. Parking was plentiful, there was no wait for a table, our waitress was... More
It was our first time to Threadgills on Riverside. I had the grilled chicken and my husband had chopped steak and both were delicious! I love the home cooking... and margarita's for desert! I always like to get a window spot and take note of the musical guests and when they will be there! I like both locations, lamar and riverside, but typical end up at the riverside location while riding our bicycles along the river!
A good restaurant with a home-cooking' feel. A little bit diner-food, a little bit interesting upscale food. Large portions, unpretentious service, laid back. Make a meal of sides. If you loved Janis Joplin, it is a must. If you didn't, go for the comfort food and really decent prices.
