Very reasonable cost for delicious AUTHENTIC food. So the place wasn't a castle; it looked like a real casita. Delicious crispy tacos, flavorful rice and beans and nice cheese used in the enchiladas.

After our experience at Los Jalapenos Cafe, I was a bit apprehensive coming here. But, it was literally next door to the house we had rented in Alpine for spring break. So we gave it a shot. Service was on spot. Food, not so much. Taco Bell'ish in quality. Beans were straight from a can. No eye for detail. Bland....

The first place we stopped at when we arrived in Alpine. We had eaten there 5 years ago when we visited, and hubby could not stop talking about it. The place hasn't changed, and neither has the quality of the food. Plenty of good, hot, home made mexican food. Can't say enough good about here. Give it a try. You...

On the opposite side of the railroad tracks in an old house, La Casita is a always hopping with customers. It is the first place we stopped when we got to Alpine. The food is the standard Mexican fare and tasty. The only problem we had was a surly waitress who acted like she had other customers she preferred to...

When we arrived at La Casita it was very late and we were very hungry, so this is by no means an unbiased review. Okay, with that out of the way, I'll just say that La Casita is wonderful in every way. The food -- if not particularly spicy -- was delicious. The service was warm and fun, and they...

Good authentic Mexican cooking. This is a little house on the south side of town and has been in the family at least 30 years. Tommy Ramos, the current owner has had it for 20, his uncle had it before him and before that, his grandma. Menu is pretty simple--things like enchiladas, chile verde and quesadillas. Prices are a little...

The portions are huge. Everything was fresh. Love the guacomole!! I would recommend sharing a plate.
Small, friendly and casual dining. Reasonable prices. Very good service. They serve beer. Had their green chile, chicken enchilada - very good. Dined with 3 other people, each liked their meals. Want to go back again.
Both a friend (that went to college in Alpine) and the hotel we stayed at recommended La Casita.
We knew by the number of cars out front that we made a smart choice. We lucked out with the only free table. I think we may have been the only non-locals in there.
We both had the cheese enchilada plate. The...

We had lunch there this week, and the food - especially the guacamole - is delicious. But the place is small, small, small, and very popular, so plan on waiting a while for a table. Once we were seated, the service was good. I had the Guadalajara ala carte - and one will suffice for lunch.
